This is the only variant in the new Punch EV lineup that is available with both Medium Range and Long Range versions.
Tata Motors has launched the new Tata Punch EV in India. The car gets several cosmetic updates, new features, and a larger battery pack. This electric micro SUV is offered in five variants: Smart, Smart Plus, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered Plus. We have already shared details of the base Smart variant; now let’s take a closer look at what the Smart Plus variant offers.
Tata Punch EV Smart Plus: Exterior
The front look of the Smart Plus variant is similar to the top variant. At the front, it gets slim LED DRLs along with a newly designed bumper featuring a textured skid plate at the bottom. Like the base Smart variant, it comes with halogen headlamps, but it misses out on fog lamps.
From the side, the Smart Plus appears quite basic. It features blacked-out A, B, and C pillars that create a floating roof effect. The front door handles and ORVMs get a black finish. It rides on 15-inch steel wheels with black wheel caps (16-inch wheels with the Long Range version).
At the rear, instead of the connected LED tail lamps offered in the top variant, it gets a halogen cluster with a connecting strip. This variant also features a roof spoiler.
Tata Punch EV Smart Plus: Interior
Compared to the base Smart variant, the Smart Plus sees the most changes inside the cabin. It features a dual-tone white and black dashboard and a 2-spoke illuminated steering wheel with audio controls on the left spoke.
It also gets a touchscreen infotainment system and new toggle-style power window switches, giving the cabin a more premium look. A gloss black centre console with a rotary gear shifter is provided, which gets a knurled finish (LR version only).

Our Take
The Smart Plus variant is a smart pick in the Punch EV lineup, especially for buyers who prefer essential features over flashy extras. The availability of the 40 kWh battery pack makes it particularly appealing for customers who frequently drive on highways. However, more colour options could have made the package even more attractive.
