Nissan Leaf is the overall winner of Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year 2026
Marking a major milestone in the electric car segment, the Nissan Leaf has been named the overall winner of the Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year 2026. The decision was made after a final voting round, which saw one model selected as the overall winner from among six category winners across different segments.
This prestigious award is given by female automobile journalists from around the world. This year, the jury consisted of 86 female motoring journalists from 55 countries across five continents . These experts cast their votes after months of testing various vehicles. According to the organizers, the final round saw fierce competition between several models, but ultimately, the Nissan Leaf won due to its utility and practical approach to electric mobility.
The overall car was chosen from six category winners.
The Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year award is presented in two stages. First, the best cars in different segments are selected. Then, from among these category winners, one model is declared the overall winner.
A total of six models reached the final stage for the 2026 awards . All these cars were judged on a number of parameters, including design, technology, safety, performance, price, and everyday usability.
