Tamil Superstar Ajith Kumar Buys Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition, Visits Shirdi Sai Baba Temple After Dubai Return
Tamil film superstar and racing enthusiast Ajith Kumar has purchased the Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition electric SUV. Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra personally congratulated him on the acquisition. Kumar had been stranded in Dubai due to the escalating conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran, and upon his safe return to India, he made two significant moves: a spiritual visit to the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, and the purchase of his new car.
The Car: Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition
Ajith Kumar’s latest acquisition is the Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition, an electric SUV inspired by Formula E racing cars, with a top speed of 202 km/h. He chose the Tango Red colour, which cuts a striking figure. The car was delivered at a showroom, where Kumar celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake. Mahindra Electric SUVs also shared photos from the delivery on Instagram.
The Formula E Edition comes in two variants: the FE2, priced at ₹23.69 lakh, and the feature-rich FE3, priced at ₹24.49 lakh. Key highlights include projector headlights, Formula E-branded seats, a signature bumper, Formula E-inspired graphics, accented brake calipers, a special badge of honour, and a flip-cap start/stop switch.

Anand Mahindra’s Reaction
Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his delight, writing that Ajith Kumar and the Mahindra BE 6 are made for each other, and that he looks forward to congratulating him in person soon.
Temple Visit
Upon returning to India, Ajith Kumar’s first stop was the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, where he performed puja and received blessings. Temple officials honoured him with a Sai Baba idol and a shawl. Kumar also interacted warmly with devotees and others present at the temple.
Racing Career
Ajith Kumar is as well known for his passion for motorsport as he is for his films. He participated in the Formula Championship in 2003 and 2010, and after a 15-year hiatus, returned to competitive racing in 2025 with his own outfit, Ajith Kumar Racing. He is currently preparing to compete in the 2026 Le Mans Cup and has stated that racing will now take priority over his film career.
Film Projects
Ajith was last seen in Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly. No new film projects have been officially announced, though reports indicate that director A.L. Vijay is developing a film inspired by his racing journey.
