The first test of the Raptor 3 engines did not go entirely according to plan, as SpaceX shared an update on the Super Heavy V3 booster tests.
While testing of 10 engines was completed ahead of schedule, the company is already preparing for a full 33-engine configuration test.
SpaceX has now completed the initial phase of testing for Super Heavy V3 at Starbase Pad 2, though some issues were encountered during the process.
“The initial activation campaign for Super Heavy V3 and Starbase Pad 2 has been completed, which included the first loading of cryogenic fuel and oxidizer onto the V3 booster. While the static test involving 10 engines ended early due to a ground issue, we observed the successful firing of all installed Raptor 3 engines. Next up: preparing the booster for a static test involving 33 engines,” SpaceX stated.
The company also shared a series of photos from the test campaign.
