Volvo ES90 Revealed: Up to 848 km Range, 106 kWh Battery & 680 HP Power

The flagship Volvo ES90 will receive a 106 kWh battery and travel up to 848 km on a single charge.

That said, the base version will come with a smaller 77 kWh battery.

In a new catalog of subsidized electric vehicles, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed the battery specifications and range figures of the new Volvo ES90 electric flagship sedan.

According to the published data, the Volvo ES90 will be available with three battery options. The base version will feature a 77 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a 320 hp rear-axle electric motor, offering a range of 608 km. The mid-range version will feature a 92 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 333 hp rear-axle electric motor, providing a range of 720 or 777 km depending on the configuration.

The top-of-the-line all-wheel-drive model will be equipped with a 106 kWh battery and two electric motors producing a combined output of 680 hp. It is offered in two range variants: 815 and 848 km. The top speed of all versions is limited to 180 km/h.

The model’s dimensions are 5,000 × 1,942 × 1,547 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,102 mm and a curb weight of 2,558 kg. Wheel sizes of 20, 21, and 22 inches will be available. The official launch of the localized Volvo ES90 in China is expected in 2026.
