JSW Motors has officially teased the India-bound Jetour T2 SUV, signaling its upcoming entry into the country. The model is part of the company’s partnership with China-based Chery, and the launch is currently expected to take place around the Diwali festive season.
The teaser surfaced through a dealer recruitment advertisement, offering the first glimpse of the India-spec Jetour T2. The image highlights the SUV’s distinctive silhouette, along with its LED headlamps and fog lamps, hinting at a rugged and modern design language.
The Jetour T2 will be a five-seater SUV built on a monocoque platform. Visually, it adopts a tough, boxy stance that draws inspiration from iconic off-road SUVs such as the Defender and the Land Cruiser Prado, giving it strong road presence.
Under the hood, the Jetour T2 is likely to feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Reports indicate it will use a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 154 BHP and 220 Nm of torque. This engine will work alongside two front-mounted electric motors that together generate 221 BHP and 390 Nm.
Powering the hybrid system will be a 26.7 kWh battery pack, which is claimed to deliver a pure electric driving range of up to 139 km on the NEDC cycle.
With its rugged styling, electrified powertrain, and expected festive-season debut, the Jetour T2 could become an interesting new entrant in India’s growing premium SUV segment.
