Volga K50 Revealed: Specs, Features, and Launch Timeline Explained

Volga unveils its first production SUV, the K50, with a 238 hp engine, premium features, and a 2026 launch timeline. Here’s everything you need to know.

The Volga K50 has officially arrived as the first production car from the revived Russian brand, and it feels like the beginning of something the company has been quietly building toward for years.

Volga recently unveiled the K50 crossover, positioning it as its flagship model. The launch is expected in the third quarter of 2026, with production set to take place in Nizhny Novgorod. The company says a manufacturing facility equipped with robotic production lines is already prepared, hinting at a serious push rather than just an experimental launch.

In terms of size, the K50 comfortably sits in the D-segment. It measures 4,770 mm in length and 1,895 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2,845 mm—numbers that suggest a spacious, road-focused SUV. Under the hood, it gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 238 hp, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. There’s also an adaptive suspension setup, which suggests that Volga is aiming to strike a balance between everyday comfort and confident handling.

Inside, the K50 leans into a more premium feel. It comes equipped with a panoramic roof, a 12-speaker audio system, ambient interior lighting, and front seats that not only adjust but also offer a massage function. These touches give the impression that Volga wants to compete not just on practicality, but on experience as well.

That said, the internet was quick to react. Many users pointed out how closely the K50’s exterior resembles the Geely Monjaro. From its overall proportions to the front-end design and even certain lighting elements, the similarities are hard to ignore. Still, Volga has maintained that it has no collaboration with Geely, leaving the conversation open and, perhaps, a little more intriguing.
