There is important news for highway commuters across India. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a price hike for the FASTag annual pass. The revised rates will come into effect from April 1, 2026.
Until now, the FASTag annual pass was priced at ₹3,000, but it has now been increased by ₹75. This means users will now have to pay ₹3,075 for the annual pass.
What is FASTag Annual Pass?
The FASTag annual pass is a prepaid toll plan designed for frequent highway travelers. Once activated, it eliminates the need for repeated recharges and ensures seamless toll payments.

Why Has the Price Increased?
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), the hike follows the National Highway Fee Rules, 2008.
The government also stated that the demand for FASTag annual passes has been rising rapidly. So far, over 5.6 million users have already benefited from this scheme.
Who Can Use This Pass?
The FASTag annual pass is applicable only for private vehicles, including:
- Cars
- SUVs
- Vans
It is valid at around 1,150 toll plazas across national highways and expressways in India.
How to Buy FASTag Annual Pass?
You can easily purchase the pass online using the **Rajmarg Yatra app or official websites.
Steps to Apply:
- Download the Rajmarg Yatra app or visit the NHAI/MoRTH website
- Enter your vehicle details and FASTag ID
- Ensure your FASTag is active and linked to your vehicle
- Make payment via UPI, net banking, debit card, or credit card
- After successful payment, the pass will be linked to your FASTag
- You will receive an SMS confirmation
Note: The ₹75 price hike may seem small, but it’s important for frequent travelers to stay updated. Despite the increase, the FASTag annual pass continues to offer convenience, time savings, and a smooth travel experience on highways.
