Skoda India Sales Cross 20,000 Units in Q1 2026, Kylaq and Kushaq Drive Strong Growth

Skoda Auto India records over 20,000 car sales in Q1 2026, with nearly 8,000 units in March. Kylaq, Kushaq, and Slavia lead growth.

Skoda Auto India Registers Strong Q1 2026 Sales with Over 20,000 Units Sold

Skoda Auto India has reported impressive sales performance in the first quarter of 2026, selling a total of 20,028 cars between January and March. This marks the company’s highest-ever quarterly sales in India and reflects a year-on-year growth of 17% compared to the same period in 2025.

In March 2026 alone, Skoda sold 7,906 units, registering an annual growth of around 7%. These numbers highlight the brand’s growing popularity and strengthening presence in the Indian automotive market.

Kylaq and Kushaq Lead the Growth

A major contributor to this success has been the newly introduced Kylaq SUV, which has quickly gained traction in the highly competitive sub-4 meter SUV segment. With its affordable pricing, localization strategy, and improved after-sales service, the Kylaq has helped Skoda reach a wider customer base.

Alongside the Kylaq, the Kushaq and Slavia have also played a crucial role in boosting the company’s overall sales. These models continue to perform strongly in their respective segments, further solidifying Skoda’s position in India.

Strong Momentum in 2025 Continues

The year 2025 proved to be a milestone for Skoda Auto India, with the company expanding its product lineup and achieving record sales. The Kylaq alone recently crossed the 50,000 unit sales milestone, showcasing its popularity among Indian buyers.

Additionally, the updated Kushaq facelift has been well received, offering enhanced styling, modern features, and improved driving dynamics. The Slavia sedan continues to perform steadily in the midsize segment, while the Kodiaq remains a strong contender in the premium SUV category.

Company Strategy and Future Plans

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Skoda Auto India, stated that after achieving record sales in 2025, the company aims to maintain this growth trajectory in 2026. The focus remains on expanding market reach with a more accessible product portfolio.

He also highlighted that the Kylaq is helping the brand connect with new customers, while the updated Kushaq further strengthens Skoda’s market position. The company plans to build on this momentum by introducing new products and expanding its footprint across India.
