From Vision 7S Concept to Production Model

The Skoda Peaq is essentially the production version of the Vision 7S concept showcased in 2022. It reflects the brand’s growing ambition in the global EV market and highlights Skoda’s evolution toward more premium offerings.

At 4.87 meters in length, the Peaq is one of the largest vehicles in Skoda’s lineup—slightly smaller than the Superb but larger than the Kodiaq, making it the brand’s biggest SUV to date.

Modern Solid Design Language

The Peaq adopts Skoda’s new “Modern Solid” design philosophy, featuring clean lines, smooth surfaces, and a bold road presence.

  • Closed-off front fascia with a “Tech Deck” hiding sensors and cameras
  • Distinctive LED lighting signature inspired by the concept
  • Minimalist silhouette with a strong shoulder line
  • Aerodynamic profile with a height of around 1.70 meters

The overall design gives the SUV a more futuristic and premium appeal compared to previous Skoda models.

Platform, Powertrain, and Performance

Built on an extended version of the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the Peaq shares its foundation with models like the ID. Buzz and ID.7.

It will be offered with two power outputs:

  • 150 kW (204 hp) – Rear-wheel drive
  • 220 kW (299 hp) – All-wheel drive (X variant)

The SUV will come with battery options of 60 kWh and 90 kWh, with the larger pack delivering a claimed range of up to 600 km. Fast charging support allows 10–80% charging in around 28 minutes using a 195 kW DC charger.

Additional features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and future-ready bidirectional charging capabilities.

Premium “Moving Living Room” Interior

One of the biggest highlights of the Skoda Peaq is its all-new interior concept, called the “Moving Living Room.”

The cabin features:

  • Minimalist and high-quality design
  • Three-row seating with up to 7 passengers
  • Adjustable second-row seats for better space
  • 13.6-inch vertical touchscreen with Android-based system
  • Digital driver display and optional head-up display

The infotainment system works like a smartphone, allowing users to customize apps, settings, and controls easily.

Luxury and Comfort Features

The Peaq focuses heavily on comfort and practicality, offering:

  • Massage seats with extendable leg rests (Relax Package)
  • Panoramic glass roof (2.12 sqm, largest in a Skoda)
  • Premium sound system developed with Sonos (14 speakers)
  • Fold-out tray and multiple storage solutions

Boot space stands at up to 1,010 liters (5-seat layout), along with a 37-liter frunk for additional storage.

Ride Quality and Driving Experience

Initial driving impressions suggest that the Peaq delivers a refined and comfortable ride. With a long wheelbase of 2.96 meters and optional adaptive suspension (DCC), the SUV offers excellent ride quality, even on rough roads.

Its quiet electric drivetrain and smooth handling make it ideal for long-distance travel and family use.

Expected Price and Rivals

Skoda aims to position the Peaq competitively, with an expected starting price of just under €50,000 (around ₹45 lakh).

The SUV will compete with models like:

  • Kia EV9
  • Hyundai Ioniq 9
  • Mercedes-Benz EQB
  • Peugeot 5008

Note: The Skoda Peaq is shaping up to be a well-rounded flagship electric SUV that focuses on space, comfort, and practicality rather than extreme performance. With its modern design, long range, premium interior, and competitive pricing, it could become a strong contender in the global EV market.
