Maruti Dzire Becomes Best-Selling Car of FY2026, Beats Nexon and Creta
The list of the top 10 best-selling cars in India for FY2026 (April 2025 to March 2026) has been revealed, and Maruti Suzuki’s compact sedan, the Dzire, has secured the number one position. It has outperformed popular models like the Tata Nexon and Hyundai Creta, along with several other top-selling cars across segments.
The Dzire continues to dominate due to its excellent mileage, comfort, and strong safety ratings, making it a preferred choice among Indian buyers.
Top 10 Best-Selling Cars in India – FY2026
1. Maruti Suzuki Dzire
The Dzire emerged as the top-selling car of FY2026 with 229,130 units sold, registering a strong 38.85% year-on-year growth compared to 165,021 units in FY2025. Its fuel efficiency, comfort, and safety features contributed significantly to its success.
2. Tata Nexon
The Tata Nexon secured the second position with 216,054 units sold in FY2026. It recorded an impressive 32.48% growth, driven by strong demand, especially in the second half of the year.
3. Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta took the third spot with 201,921 units sold. Despite a modest 3.62% growth, crossing the 2 lakh mark highlights its continued popularity in the midsize SUV segment.
4. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The Ertiga ranked fourth with 198,876 units sold, showing a 4.14% year-on-year growth. It remains a top choice among MPV buyers.
5. Maruti Suzuki Swift
The Swift recorded 185,349 units sold, with a 3.18% growth compared to FY2025. It continues to be one of India’s most loved hatchbacks.
6. Tata Punch
The Tata Punch saw a slight decline, selling 183,980 units, down 6.41% year-on-year. Despite this, it remained among the top-selling SUVs.
7. Maruti Suzuki WagonR
The WagonR sold 180,134 units in FY2026, marking a 9.23% decline compared to the previous year. However, it continues to be a popular budget family car.
8. Maruti Suzuki Brezza
The Brezza recorded 180,104 units sold, reflecting a 4.79% decline year-on-year. It still remains a strong contender in the compact SUV segment.
9. Mahindra Scorpio
The Scorpio secured the ninth position with 178,800 units sold, registering a healthy 8.47% growth over the previous year.
10. Maruti Suzuki Baleno
The Baleno rounded off the top 10 list with 172,560 units sold, showing a 3.23% growth in FY2026.
