Hyundai Motor Company Teases ‘Earth’ & ‘Venus’ Concepts, Next-Gen Ioniq EVs Incoming
Hyundai Motor Company is accelerating its electrification strategy with ambitious plans to sell 3.3 million electrified vehicles globally by 2030. This portfolio will include BEVs, hybrids, and Extended Range Electric Vehicles (EREVs), with the Ioniq lineup playing a crucial role.
The brand is preparing to expand its EV range further, including the upcoming Ioniq 3 for Europe. Alongside this, Hyundai has teased two new concepts — ‘Earth’ and ‘Venus’, which are expected to debut at the Ioniq Brand Launch event on April 10 and could also be showcased at the Beijing Motor Show 2026.

Hyundai ‘Earth’ Concept – Rugged Future SUVs
The Earth concept appears to preview Hyundai’s next-generation SUVs and crossovers under the Ioniq family.
Key design highlights include:
- Sharp LED lighting elements
- Compact bonnet with a steeply raked windshield
- Flat body surfaces with angular cuts (similar to futuristic designs like Cybertruck)
- Squared wheel arches with protective cladding
The concept is showcased in a silver finish, giving it a clean yet rugged appearance. The steep windshield may seamlessly integrate into a panoramic glass roof, offering a more immersive cabin experience.
Other expected features include:
- High ground clearance
- Sporty alloy wheels
- Sloping roofline
- Rear spoiler with a tapered design
The Earth concept is likely to lead to practical, family-oriented EVs, built on Hyundai’s upcoming Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) platform and next-gen battery technology.
Hyundai ‘Venus’ Concept – Premium Halo EVs
In contrast, the Venus concept focuses on luxury, design, and performance, potentially shaping future flagship Ioniq models.
Finished in an elegant golden shade, the Venus concept reflects themes of luxury and sophistication.
Key highlights include:
- Curvy yet sharply sculpted body panels
- Fastback-style roofline
- Heavily raked rear windshield
- Sleek, horizontally stacked taillamps
- Prominent rear bumper and black-finished spoiler
The Venus concept is expected to have a low-slung stance, suggesting better aerodynamics, higher range, and enhanced performance compared to mainstream models.
Future Plans and Platform
Both concepts are expected to be based on Hyundai’s upcoming Integrated Modular Architecture (IMA) platform, which will underpin future EVs.
Production models inspired by these concepts could arrive by late 2027 or early 2028, marking the next phase of Hyundai’s EV evolution.
Conclusion
With the Earth and Venus concepts, Hyundai is clearly signaling its dual EV strategy — combining rugged practicality with premium innovation. These concepts not only preview the design direction of future Ioniq models but also reinforce India and global markets as key pillars in Hyundai’s electrification journey.
