A large-scale energy storage facility based on the Tesla Megapack 2XL has been launched in Poland.
Slovenian company NGEN is expanding its energy projects across Europe with the opening of a new electricity storage facility in Poland. The project is located in Lozenice, in the northwest of the country, and has a power capacity of 9.4 MW and a total storage capacity of 18.8 MWh.
Known as Project Vistula, this is the second large-scale energy storage facility in Poland and the first to be directly connected to a distribution system operator (DSO) grid. The system consists of five Tesla Megapack 2XL units.
According to reports, this marks the first implementation of this advanced battery technology in the Polish market.
The Tesla Megapack is a powerful, industrial-scale lithium-ion energy storage solution developed by Tesla. It is designed to stabilize power grids, support renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, and provide backup power. Each unit can store up to 4 MWh of energy, enabling large-scale projects capable of powering thousands of homes and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
