Skoda Kylaq Sales Surge: Skoda’s affordable compact SUV, the Kylaq, is witnessing massive demand in India, with sales jumping by 381% and offering strong safety credentials.

Skoda’s compact SUV, the Skoda Kylaq, has seen a tremendous rise in popularity. According to reports, its sales grew sharply from just 10,205 units in FY2025 to 49,089 units in FY2026, marking an impressive 381% year-on-year growth.

As per data from Autopunditz, the Kylaq currently holds a market share of around 3.8%. The SUV is giving tough competition to popular models like Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, and Mahindra XUV 3XO in the segment.

New Variants Launched in January 2026

In January 2026, Skoda introduced two new variants of the Kylaq – Classic+ and Prestige+.

  • Classic+ Variant:
    Comes equipped with features like an electric sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, automatic wipers, and cruise control with steering-mounted controls. It is powered by a 115 hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
  • Prestige+ Variant:
    To differentiate it from the earlier top-spec Prestige variant, Skoda has removed the 6-way powered front seats, while retaining other premium features.

Upcoming Skoda Kodiaq RS

Skoda Auto has confirmed the launch of the sporty Kodiaq RS in India around May–June 2026. The SUV is expected to be priced between ₹55–60 lakh.

It will be Skoda’s flagship performance SUV in India, powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 265 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. It will be paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and come with standard all-wheel drive.

The Kodiaq RS can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 231 km/h. It will feature sporty 20-inch alloy wheels.

Kodiaq Diesel Comeback

Skoda is also planning to reintroduce the Kodiaq Diesel in India, with an expected price range of ₹40–45 lakh.

The SUV will likely be powered by a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, producing around 190–200 bhp and 360–400 Nm of torque. It will be paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system.

Additionally, the Skoda Kushaq facelift is expected to launch soon, with updates similar to recent global models.
