The new Renault Duster has received an overwhelming response from customers, crossing the 1,000-unit mark in its first month. According to Autopunditz, based on March 2026 sales data, 1,402 units of the Duster were dispatched during the month. The SUV is available in six trims, including a limited-run Launch Edition. Prices start at ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Renault recorded total sales of 5,046 units in March 2026, marking a year-on-year growth of 77% compared to March 2025. Out of these, 1,402 units were of the new Duster. Customer deliveries are expected to begin this month. The March numbers represent dealer dispatches, including showroom display and demo units.
Great Ground Clearance and Boot Space
The new Duster features eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs, a distinctive fender design, “Duster” lettering on the grille, and connected LED tail lamps. It offers a ground clearance of 212 mm. With the rear seats up, the boot space stands at 700 liters, making it one of the best in its segment.
Modern Cabin and Features
The 2026 Duster’s cabin is modern and comes with a dual-tone theme. It is equipped with features such as power and ventilated seats, an electronic parking brake, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, powered tailgate, 360-degree camera, wireless charger, dual-zone climate control, and a 10.25-inch digital driver display.
The SUV also gets a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with Google integration. It features a 6-speaker Arkamys sound system for enhanced audio experience.
Engine Options
The new Duster is offered with two engine options:
- A 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 98 hp and 160 Nm of torque
- A 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 160 hp and 280 Nm of torque
The smaller engine is available with a manual transmission only, while the 1.3-liter engine comes with both a manual and a 6-speed AISIN dual-clutch automatic (DCT) gearbox.
Platform and Future Plans
The new Duster is based on the R-GMP modular platform. It features a more advanced electronic architecture compared to the global CMF-B platform, enabling the integration of more software-driven features.
The R-GMP is also a multi-energy platform, and Renault may introduce a powerful 1.8-liter hybrid petrol engine later this year.
