Russia Builds New Car Plant in Record 8 Months, Facility to Produce 100,000 Vehicles Annually

Russia completes a modern automotive plant in just eight months. The AGR facility features automated lines, an on-site test track, and a 100,000-unit annual capacity.

Russia has never seen a construction project completed so quickly: a plant designed to produce 100,000 cars per year, complete with its own test track, was built in just eight months.

In total, about 600 containers of equipment were delivered to the plant. The project started from scratch, requiring a complete redesign of the production logic and architecture. In June 2025, the first container carrying metal structures for the installation of heavy-duty lines arrived at the site. Altogether, approximately 600 containers containing equipment and process systems were supplied to the facility.

Installation is now complete, and the plant is moving into the final setup phase ahead of full-scale production. According to AGR, the creation of this modern production facility took less than eight months — a rare achievement for the automotive industry. The plant is designed to manufacture up to 100,000 vehicles annually and features automated production lines along with an on-site test track.
