Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Launched: Volkswagen has introduced the 2026 facelift version of its popular compact SUV, the Volkswagen Taigun, in India. The updated model brings refreshed styling, new features, and an upgraded powertrain, making it more modern and premium than before.
With this update, Volkswagen aims to strengthen the Taigun’s position in the highly competitive compact SUV segment by enhancing its design, technology, comfort, performance, and safety.
Powertrain Upgrade
The biggest highlight of the 2026 Taigun facelift is its updated powertrain. The 1.0-litre TSI engine is now paired with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox, replacing the earlier 6-speed unit. This new transmission is claimed to be smoother and offers around 5.8% better fuel efficiency.
The 1.5-litre TSI engine continues with the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox but now gets rear disc brakes for improved braking performance.

Exterior Design
The new Taigun facelift gets a refreshed and more premium look, inspired by the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line.
At the front, it features an illuminated VW logo, new LED headlamps connected by a full-width light bar, a slimmer grille, and a redesigned bumper with chrome accents.
The GT variant adds sporty elements like a blacked-out grille, black alloy wheels, black exterior trims, and exclusive GT badging.
From the side, the design remains largely unchanged, apart from new 17-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, it gets an illuminated logo, updated LED tail lamps with sequential indicators, and a revised bumper.
Interior, Features and Technology
Inside, the 2026 Taigun facelift feels more premium and feature-rich. It comes with a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an updated 10.1-inch infotainment system with AI-based features, improved voice control, and real-time updates.
