Yandex will showcase a new version of its Yandex Auto platform at the Beijing International Auto Show.
The company announced that it will unveil an upgraded version of its proprietary automotive platform, featuring a significantly enhanced AI assistant called Alice. Unlike traditional assistants, Alice will not only respond to voice commands but also proactively suggest actions based on real-time driving conditions.
The system is designed to understand the full context of a trip, including the route, time, traffic conditions, and even the user’s schedule. For instance, if a driver is running late for a meeting, the assistant can recommend a faster route or help reschedule an appointment. With voice-based controls, drivers can stay focused on the road while interacting with the system.
The platform is powered by Yandex’s advanced AI technologies and its development of autonomous “agents” capable of performing tasks without direct user input. Key features include analyzing calendar data, monitoring traffic and weather conditions, and offering real-time recommendations throughout the journey.
According to the company, Yandex services are expected to be installed in approximately 32% of new connected cars sold in Russia by 2025. Currently, more than 450,000 vehicles are equipped with the platform. Its automotive partners include LADA, Great Wall Motor (HAVAL, TANK, WEY), and GAC Group. The deepest integration is available in the UMO 5 Powered by Yandex electric vehicle.
Additionally, it was recently announced that the Yandex Auto multimedia platform will be introduced in upcoming models from the Chinese automaker Changan Automobile.
