The Maruti Suzuki Dzire emerged as the best-selling car in India in FY2026. The sedan recorded total sales of 2,29,130 units, registering an impressive year-on-year growth of 38.8%.
Dzire Becomes India’s Best-Selling Car in FY2026
Despite the growing dominance of SUVs in the Indian market, sedans continue to hold their ground. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire remains the most popular sedan and has now become the overall best-selling car in FY2026.
In comparison, the Dzire sold 1,65,021 units in FY2025, showing strong growth in the latest financial year.
Top 10 Best-Selling Sedans in FY2026
Following the Dzire, the Hyundai Aura secured the second position with 68,066 units sold, registering a 23.9% growth.
The Honda Amaze ranked third with 32,906 units, showing a marginal 0.6% growth.
At fourth place, the Volkswagen Virtus recorded 22,959 units, growing by 7.1%.
Mid-Segment Performance
The Skoda Slavia stood at fifth position with 14,382 units, witnessing a 7.7% decline.
The Tata Tigor ranked sixth with 12,147 units, facing a 26.4% drop in sales.
Meanwhile, the Hyundai Verna came in seventh with 9,925 units, declining by 36.3%.
Lower Segment and Premium Sedans
The Honda City secured eighth position with 7,142 units, registering a 34.5% decline.
At ninth place, the Toyota Camry sold 2,346 units, showing a 26.5% growth.
Overall, a total of 3,99,003 sedan cars were sold in India during FY2026, reflecting a 19.3% year-on-year growth for the segment.
Dzire Engine, Mileage and Price
The new Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre Z-series 3-cylinder petrol engine, producing:
- 80 bhp of power
- 112 Nm of torque
Mileage figures:
- Manual: 24.79 kmpl
- Automatic: 25.71 kmpl
- CNG: 33.73 km/kg
The sedan also boasts a 5-star safety rating, making it one of the safest cars in its segment.
The ex-showroom price of the Dzire starts at ₹6.65 lakh and goes up to ₹9.39 lakh.
