After nearly five years, Volkswagen has launched the facelifted version of its popular SUV, the Volkswagen Taigun, in India. Along with the update, the company is also offering an attractive assured buyback guarantee of up to 75%, making it a compelling deal for buyers.

If you’re planning to buy an SUV but are concerned about resale value, Volkswagen aims to address that worry. The new Taigun facelift has been introduced with a starting price of ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom), offering updated features, improved styling, and a strong value proposition.

75% Assured Buyback Offer Explained

Volkswagen is offering a guaranteed return of up to 75% of the ex-showroom price under its Assured Buyback program. This offer is valid for a period of three years or up to 30,000 km, whichever comes first.

Customers can return the vehicle within this period and receive up to 75% of the original price, depending on the variant. The offer is currently valid for bookings made until May 31, 2026, and is claimed to be one of the highest buyback values in the Indian passenger car market.

Design and exterior updates

The facelifted Taigun doesn’t undergo drastic design changes but gets subtle updates that enhance its premium appeal. The front now features a slimmer grille with a full-width LED light bar and an illuminated Volkswagen logo. The bumper gets a piano black finish, while the side profile is updated with new alloy wheels.

At the rear, the SUV comes with updated LED tail lamps featuring sequential turn indicators, along with welcome and goodbye light animations. It is available in nine color options, including Avocado Pearl, Steel Gray, Candy White, Deep Black, Wild Cherry Red, Lava Blue, Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel, and Carbon Steel Matte.

Engine and performance

The new Taigun continues with two TSI petrol engine options. The 1.0-litre engine produces 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre TSI engine delivers 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.

Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DSG (for the 1.0-litre), and a newly introduced 8-speed automatic gearbox, which is one of the biggest mechanical updates in this facelift.

Cabin and features

Inside, the layout remains familiar but now feels more premium with new color schemes and a two-tone finish. The SUV offers six upholstery options based on the variant.

It now features a larger 10.25-inch digital driver display and an updated 10.1-inch infotainment system with smoother software, enhanced graphics, and AI-based features for better voice control and real-time updates.

The Taigun facelift comes with over 40 features, including full-LED headlamps with auto leveling, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and 6-way electrically adjustable ventilated front seats. The AC system has also been improved for better cooling performance.

Safety features

In terms of safety, the SUV is well-equipped with over 40 safety features. These include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and an auto-dimming IRVM.

Volkswagen claims that the new Taigun continues to offer a 5-star safety rating, similar to its predecessor.

Warranty and ownership benefits

The company is offering a 4-year or 100,000 km warranty, along with 4 years of roadside assistance and 3 free labor services.

Overall, the new Taigun facelift is now more stylish, feature-rich, and technologically advanced, making it an attractive option in the compact SUV segment.
