Forza Horizon 5 continues to deliver strong results, as it has now sold 5 million copies on PlayStation 5.
Microsoft has recently begun bringing some of its exclusive titles to PlayStation, and one of its biggest successes so far has been Forza Horizon 5. The latest sales figures were revealed by Virtuos.
According to Virtuos’ official website, the game reached 5 million units sold on PlayStation 5 within its first year. This performance places it close to Gran Turismo 7, which sold 6 million copies in its first year and has now surpassed 16.5 million total sales.
Virtuos also highlighted its contribution to the project. The studio supported Playground Games during development and was responsible for creating approximately 90% of the car models featured in the game. Additionally, the team worked on environment assets, characters, texture libraries, vehicle parts, complex animations, and even the dynamic damage system.
Looking ahead, the next installment in the franchise, Forza Horizon 6, is already in development. The game is expected to take players to Japan and is scheduled to launch on May 19 for PC and Xbox Series X. A PlayStation release is also planned, although the exact date has not yet been announced.
