Maruti Suzuki’s Big SUV Launch Plan: Fronx Hybrid, Flex Fuel & Grand Vitara Facelift

Maruti Suzuki is set to launch 5 new SUVs in India, including Brezza facelift, Fronx Hybrid, and Y43 micro SUV. Check features, engines, and launch details.

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch five new SUVs in the Indian market, making the coming months exciting for buyers. The lineup includes the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift, Maruti Suzuki Fronx Series Hybrid, Fronx Flex Fuel, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara facelift, and an all-new micro SUV codenamed Y43, which will rival the Tata Punch.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Series Hybrid

The Fronx Series Hybrid is expected to debut in May or June this year. It will introduce a new, more affordable hybrid technology in the segment. The model will use a 1.2-liter Z12E three-cylinder petrol engine that works as a generator to charge the battery, while electric motors will drive the wheels. This setup aims to deliver improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel

Maruti Suzuki is also reportedly working on a flex-fuel version of the Fronx. This model will run on E85 ethanol-blended fuel and will automatically adjust fuel injection, ignition timing, and combustion based on the ethanol percentage. It is expected to use a 1.5-liter petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The launch timeline has not yet been confirmed.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Facelift

The updated Grand Vitara is expected to launch in the second half of this year. The facelift will likely feature a redesigned grille, updated LED lighting, and new alloy wheels. Inside, it could get a larger infotainment screen, refreshed dashboard design, and improved cabin quality. Major mechanical changes are not expected.

Maruti Suzuki Y43 Micro SUV

Maruti Suzuki is also developing a new micro SUV, codenamed Y43, which is expected to launch in 2027. It will compete with the Tata Punch and the upcoming Hyundai XCircle in the entry-level segment. Based on the HEARTECT platform, the Y43 is expected to be around 3.8 meters long and powered by the Z12E petrol engine, similar to the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Maruti Suzuki Dzire. A CNG option is also likely. Features may include LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment, reverse camera, wireless charging, and even a sunroof.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift

The Brezza facelift is also on the way, bringing updates to one of Maruti’s most popular SUVs. It is expected to feature a revised grille, LED headlights, a new bumper, updated alloy wheels, and refreshed taillights. Inside, the SUV could get a redesigned dashboard with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, and improved materials.

Mechanically, the Brezza will likely continue with the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, along with manual and automatic transmission options. A CNG variant with an underbody tank is also expected. Additionally, reports suggest a possible 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
