China’s premium EV brand ZEEKR, part of the Geely Group, has officially launched its new plug-in hybrid SUV, the ZEEKR 8X, in China. The model has received a massive response, crossing 10,000 bookings within just 38 minutes of launch.
With electric mobility gaining rapid popularity, ZEEKR’s latest offering combines petrol and electric power, making it a practical option for both city and long-distance driving. However, there is currently no confirmation regarding its launch in India.
Variants and Price
The ZEEKR 8X has been introduced at an attractive introductory price of 329,800 yuan (approximately ₹45 lakh). Regular pricing starts from 356,800 yuan (around ₹49 lakh) and goes up to 500,800 yuan (approximately ₹69 lakh) for the top variant.
The SUV is available in multiple variants, including Max, Ultra, Ultra+, and the top-spec Yaoying.
Massive Demand
The SUV has created a strong buzz in the Chinese market. Within just 38 minutes of opening bookings, it crossed 10,000 orders. This number further surged to over 30,000 bookings within 48 hours, highlighting its strong demand.
Power and Performance
The ZEEKR 8X delivers performance comparable to a supercar:
- It is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine paired with a powerful electric motor.
- The top-spec Yaoying variant produces an impressive 1,381 hp.
- It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.96 seconds.
Range and Charging
- The SUV is offered with two battery pack options: 55.1 kWh and 70 kWh.
- Combined range (petrol + electric) is claimed to be up to 1,416 km.
- It supports ultra-fast charging, with the battery charging from 20% to 80% in just 9 minutes.
