Tata Motors is preparing to expand its lineup with new variants of the highly anticipated Tata Sierra. The model has already crossed 1 lakh (100,000) bookings, reflecting strong demand in the Indian market.
To meet this demand, the company is ramping up production. Alongside this, Tata Motors has confirmed that both AWD and CNG variants of the Sierra are under development and will be launched in the future.
Tata Sierra CNG Testing Begins
Recent spy shots of a test mule have surfaced online, indicating that testing of the Tata Sierra CNG has already begun. This development suggests that the launch may not be too far away.
Expected Features
The Tata Sierra CNG is likely to retain most features from the standard model. Expected highlights include:
- Dual-screen setup with touchscreen infotainment system
- Fully digital instrument cluster
- Premium white-themed interior
- 4-spoke steering wheel
- Electrically adjustable seats
- Dual-zone climate control
Additional features may include a JBL sound system and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function.
Engine and Power
The Sierra CNG is expected to use Tata’s iCNG technology, which includes dual-cylinder CNG tanks for better boot space management.
It is likely to be powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing around 106 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque in standard form. The CNG variant may deliver slightly lower performance figures compared to the petrol and diesel versions.
What’s Next?
With testing already underway and demand crossing 1 lakh bookings, the Tata Sierra CNG could become a strong contender in the growing CNG SUV segment. More details regarding launch timeline and pricing are expected in the coming months.
