Mercedes-Benz India has brought back one of its most loved nameplates in the country — the Mercedes-Benz CLA. The company had discontinued the model in February 2020, and now, after nearly six years, the second-generation CLA has made a comeback with a big twist.
This time, the new CLA will be sold only as a pure electric vehicle. The earlier version was available with petrol and diesel engines. The new model was showcased at a grand event in Bengaluru, and bookings are set to open in March. Mercedes will bring the car via the CBU route but is promising CKD-like pricing. It will be offered in a single variant — CLA 250+ AMG Line.
Design and Exterior
The new CLA continues to be one of the most stylish four-door coupe sedans in its segment. Built on the brand-new MMA platform with advanced 800V architecture, the 2026 CLA 250+ AMG Line gets a fresh and modern design language.
The exterior stands out with its aerodynamic silhouette and an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.21 Cd. Key design highlights include:

At the front, the car gets new adaptive LED headlights with the signature three-pointed star theme and connected LED DRLs. The illuminated grille features a large central star surrounded by 142 smaller star elements, giving it a very premium road presence.
Other exterior elements include AMG Line bumpers, 18-inch AMG alloy wheels, connected LED tail lamps with star detailing, and chrome accents.
The CLA 250+ AMG Line will be available in five colour options: Polar White, Cosmic Black, Clear Blue, Patagonia Red, and Alpine Grey.

Inside the cabin, the CLA EV focuses heavily on sportiness and sustainability. The CLA 250+ AMG Line gets sporty AMG seats, recycled material finishes, and plenty of soft-touch surfaces across the dashboard.

In terms of practicality, the sedan offers a 400-litre rear boot plus an additional 100-litre frunk (front storage).
