Specialized Turbo Levo R Electric Mountain Bike Launched With 850W Motor, Carbon Frame and Up to 5-Hour Range

Specialized unveils the Turbo Levo R electric mountain bike featuring an 850W motor, GENIE suspension, and up to 1120Wh battery. Check specs, range, weight, and price.

Specialized Bicycle Components has released a new electric mountain bike equipped with a powerful 850W motor.

Specialized unveiled the Turbo Levo R electric mountain bike, which the company says offers the closest feel to a regular bike. It features one of the most powerful motors in its class, making it ideal for fast climbs and aggressive descents.

The new model comes with a carbon frame and weighs as little as 18.8 kg in its lightest configuration. Its key highlight is the Turbo S-Works 3.1 motor, delivering peak power of 850 W and torque of up to 111 Nm. The system analyzes pedal speed and wheel movement in real time and adjusts the assistance level on the fly. For example, on slippery surfaces, power is reduced to maintain traction, while on straight sections it increases. The motor is also noticeably quieter thanks to a new design with improved cooling and reinforced gears.

The suspension system also gets a unique solution. The GENIE rear suspension uses variable stiffness: it operates softly for most of the travel but becomes firmer near the limit to handle stronger impacts. The rear suspension offers 130 mm of travel, while the front provides 140 mm. The 29-inch wheels are designed for demanding trail use.

The manufacturer offers several battery options. The standard 840 Wh battery delivers up to 3.75 hours of riding. An additional module increases capacity to 1120 Wh and provides roughly 5 hours of use, while a lightweight 600 Wh battery helps reduce overall weight. All batteries are IP67 water-resistant. The bike also features a built-in MasterMind T3 display, assistance adjustment in 10% increments, and app-based updates.

Sales of the Turbo Levo R have begun in Europe, where prices start at €7,999 and go up to €13,999 for the top-spec version.
