Tata Electric Cars: Tata Motors recently introduced a new model of the Punch EV. Now, the company is preparing to launch three more electric cars in India — the new Tiago EV, Sierra EV, and Avinya. Let’s take a closer look at these upcoming vehicles.
Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular in India these days due to their low running costs and affordable maintenance. Many buyers are switching from petrol and diesel cars to EVs or purchasing new electric vehicles. If you are also planning to buy a new electric car, this update could be useful. Tata recently introduced a new version of the Punch EV, and now the company is gearing up to launch three more electric cars in India. In this article, we will tell you about these vehicles.
New Tata Tiago EV (Tiago EV Facelift)
Tata’s most affordable electric car, the Tata Tiago EV, is set to arrive in a new avatar. The company is working on a facelift model, which was recently spotted during testing. The upcoming Tiago EV is expected to look more attractive and come with additional features compared to the current version.
Features of the New Tiago EV
The facelifted Tiago EV is likely to get new LED headlights, stylish DRLs, and a redesigned bumper. It may also offer a 360-degree camera and a sunroof for the first time. Inside, a larger touchscreen and a new steering wheel are expected. The driving range could also improve. Reports suggest it may borrow the larger 30 kWh battery from the Tata Punch EV, which would significantly boost range.
Tata Avinya
Tata is expected to introduce the first car from its premium sub-brand, Tata Avinya, by the end of 2026. This model will be a luxurious and stylish offering, positioned above Tata’s current lineup. It is being developed on Jaguar Land Rover’s exclusive EMA platform. The design is expected to follow a sportback style, giving it a futuristic and distinctive road presence.
Tata Sierra EV
The Tata Sierra EV is one of Tata’s most anticipated upcoming vehicles. The company has already showcased its ICE (petrol/diesel) version and is now preparing the electric variant. The Sierra EV is expected to launch between April and June 2026. It may be offered with two or three battery pack options.
Range and Design of Sierra EV
The electric SUV is expected to deliver a driving range of around 450–500 km on a single charge and will likely support fast charging. In terms of design, it will largely resemble the ICE version of the Sierra but with several EV-specific styling tweaks for a more modern electric look.
Major EV Seller in India
It is worth noting that Tata Motors remains a leading player in India’s electric car market. The company offers EVs across multiple segments, from hatchbacks to SUVs. In January, Tata Motors recorded the highest EV sales in the country, holding over 50% market share. To maintain this dominance, the automaker is preparing to introduce three new and powerful electric vehicles in the Indian market.
