Maruti Suzuki February 2026 Sales: 2.14 Lakh Cars Sold, SUV & MPV Demand Surges

Maruti Suzuki sold 2,13,995 vehicles in February 2026, posting over 7% YoY growth. SUV and MPV sales rose strongly while compact car sales declined.

Maruti Suzuki Sells 2.14 Lakh Cars in February 2026

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has released its February 2026 sales report, showing steady growth in overall volumes. In the 28 days of February, the Indo-Japanese automaker sold a total of 213,995 vehicles (including domestic sales and exports), registering a 7.32% year-on-year growth compared to 199,400 units in February last year.

While the company saw strong momentum in SUV and MPV categories, sales of compact hatchbacks and sedans declined slightly.

Domestic Sales Show Modest Growth

In the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki sold 161,000 units in February 2026, marginally higher than 160,791 units in February 2025. The growth in India remained steady but modest.

The company also sold 3,130 units in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment, mainly driven by the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry.

Exports Jump Over 50%

Exports turned out to be a major growth driver last month. Maruti Suzuki shipped 39,155 vehicles overseas and supplied 10,710 units to OEM partners.

Notably, exports recorded a year-on-year jump of over 50%, compared with 25,021 units exported in February last year — one of the strongest performances in recent months.

Mini Segment Sees Mild Improvement

In the entry-level mini segment, Maruti Suzuki sold 10,238 units of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Maruti Suzuki S-Presso combined. This segment witnessed a slight year-on-year improvement.

Compact Cars Register Decline

The compact segment — which includes models such as Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Maruti Suzuki Dzire — reported 66,386 units in February 2026.

This marks a decline compared to 72,942 units sold in February 2025, indicating softening demand in traditional hatchback and sedan categories.

SUV and MPV Segment Drives Growth

Maruti Suzuki’s biggest boost came from the utility vehicle portfolio. The company sold 72,756 units of SUVs and MPVs in February 2026, up from 65,033 units in the same month last year.

Key contributors included:

  • Maruti Suzuki Brezza

  • Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

  • Maruti Suzuki XL6

  • Maruti Suzuki Jimny

  • Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

  • Maruti Suzuki Fronx

  • Maruti Suzuki Invicto

Eeco Van Maintains Momentum

The popular Maruti Suzuki Eeco also delivered steady performance, with 11,620 units sold in February, registering year-on-year growth.

Maruti Suzuki’s February 2026 performance highlights a clear market shift. While traditional compact cars are losing some steam, SUVs, MPVs, and exports are powering the company’s growth. If current trends continue, utility vehicles are likely to remain the biggest volume drivers for the automaker in the coming months.
