McMurtry Speirling PURE Fan Hypercar Enters Production at $1.36 Million

McMurtry Automotive begins production of the Speirling PURE fan-powered electric hypercar. Limited to 100 units, the record-setting EV costs $1.36 million.

McMurtry Automotive has announced the start of production of one of the world’s most unusual electric cars.

The McMurtry Speirling PURE is an ultra-lightweight hypercar with a fan system that generates downforce, but only a select few will be able to afford it. The model will be released in a strictly limited edition and will be very expensive.

The developer will produce only 100 cars at a price of $1.36 million each. The car is equipped with a fan system that generates extreme downforce. This allows the car to drive upside down and has already set several records.

The project faced delays following the death of company founder David McMurtry in 2024. His sons, Richard McMurtry and Ben McMurtry, continued the work and created the McMurtry Technology division to commercialize the technology. This allowed the hypercar to enter series production.

The company notes strong interest from clients and partners, generating multi-million-dollar revenues.
