Gurugram Traffic Police: Often, after a vehicle is towed, owners are unaware of where their car has been taken. To address this issue, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has launched the Vehicle Tow app.
Gurugram Traffic Police: To tackle the problem of traffic jams in Cyber City Gurugram, the police have adopted a ‘zero tolerance’ policy. (Between Tuesday and Thursday, the police seized (towed) more than 150 vehicles for illegal parking. According to officials, vehicles parked wrongly on the roadside were causing the biggest traffic jams, and they have now been removed and sent to 10 fixed parking places.
Vehicle Tow App
Often, after a vehicle is towed, owners don’t know where their car has been taken. To address this issue, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has launched the Vehicle Tow app. Using this app, vehicle owners can view the live location of their towed vehicle from home and find out which parking lot their vehicle is parked in. This has greatly simplified the process of getting their vehicle released.
To avoid disputes and
maintain transparency, police now take photos and record the location of every vehicle before towing it. This data is available on a digital portal, providing proof that the vehicle was parked incorrectly. A QR code-based portal has also been established for vehicle release.
To curb illegal parking, the police have imposed strict penalties
. For the first violation, the vehicle owner will be fined ₹1,500. If the vehicle is caught violating the rules again, the fine will increase to ₹2,500, including a ₹1,000 crane (towing) charge. The idea is to discourage people from parking illegally.
