BMW M2 M Performance Track Kit Unveiled: New Aero, Motorsport Suspension, Lighter Exhaust

BMW unveils the M Performance Track Kit for the M2 with aggressive aero upgrades, motorsport suspension, and optional lightweight exhaust. Launch set for July 2026.

BMW has revealed a factory-developed M Performance Track Kit for the BMW M2, bringing major aerodynamic and chassis upgrades. The package is designed to boost track performance while keeping the car road-legal and retains the existing twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline-six engine.

Highlights

  • Adjustable front splitter and swan-neck rear wing

  • Advanced four-way adjustable suspension

  • Optional lightweight M Performance exhaust

  • India-spec M2 price: ₹1.02 crore (ex-showroom)

  • Track Kit launch: July 2026

Aggressive Aero Upgrades

The Track Kit adds several functional aerodynamic components, including:

  • Manually adjustable front splitter

  • Integrated front diffuser

  • Fixed wheel-arch diffusers

  • Additional scoop under the engine oil cooler

BMW claims these upgrades significantly increase downforce and improve front-end grip.

At the rear, the kit features a manually adjustable swan-neck rear wing, similar to those used on the BMW M4 GT4 and BMW M4 GT3.

Wing modes:

  • Race mode: pulls back by 50 mm for higher aero efficiency

  • Street mode: folds inward to meet German road rules

  • Two-step angle adjustment for optimized rear downforce

  • Integrated brake light

Motorsport-Derived Suspension

Chassis upgrades are a major highlight. The kit includes:

  • Threaded suspension setup

  • Four-way adjustable rebound and compression damping

  • Adjustable support bearings

  • BMW’s first road-legal motorsport damper system

Ride height can be lowered by up to 20 mm at both front and rear, allowing extensive customization for track conditions.

Price and Optional Exhaust

The M Performance Track Kit is priced at €23,500 (approx. ₹25 lakh) in Germany, including taxes.

BMW will also offer an optional M Performance exhaust system for the BMW M2 CS via its M Performance Parts catalogue.

Exhaust highlights:

  • Weight reduction of about 8 kg

  • Carbon and titanium tailpipe trims

  • Price: €8,343 (approx. ₹8.95 lakh)

Engine and Performance

The M2 continues with its 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine producing:

  • 473 bhp

  • 600 Nm torque (550 Nm with manual)

Transmission options include an 8-speed automatic and a manual gearbox.

Performance figures:

  • 0–100 km/h: 4.0 seconds (automatic)

  • 0–100 km/h: 4.2 seconds (manual)

The M Performance Track Kit is aimed at enthusiasts who want sharper track capability without compromising road legality.
