Premium car manufacturer Lexus is set to launch its new-generation Lexus ES in India on March 20th, 2026. This luxury sedan will feature a new design, a larger size, a high-tech interior, and an electrified powertrain.
The new ES is built on the company’s updated TNGA-K platform. Upon launch, it will compete with cars like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series, and Audi A4 in the luxury sedan segment.
New and More Futuristic Design

The new Lexus ES will feature a much more modern and sharper design than the outgoing model.
The large spindle grille has been replaced with a more clean and minimalist design at the front. The lower part of the bumper features a small air intake and diamond pattern detailing, giving it a premium look.
The front also features a new Z-shaped light signature, which incorporates the daytime running lights and indicators. The main headlights are placed below, behind vertical gloss-black trim.
The side profile features a sloping roofline, a new shoulder line, and new alloy wheels, giving the car a sportier look.
The rear features a full-wide LED light bar, which features the illuminated LEXUS logo. L-shaped chrome elements below it further enhance the car’s premium design.
Size Increased
. The new Lexus ES has also grown in size compared to its predecessor.
. Length: Approximately 165mm longer
. Width: Approximately 55mm longer
. Height: Approximately 110mm longer
. Wheelbase: Approximately 80mm longer
The longer wheelbase is expected to result in more space inside the cabin, especially for rear passengers.

High-Tech and Minimalist Interior
The interior of the new ES features a more modern and clean design. Compared to the outgoing model, there are fewer physical buttons.
The highlight of the dashboard is the large 14-inch infotainment touchscreen, which controls many car functions and also supports over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Additionally, it includes:
. 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
. Three-spoke steering wheel
. Premium Mark Levinson audio system
. Electrochromic panoramic glass roof
. Powered front seats (with memory function)
. Reclining rear seats and Boss Mode
. Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
Features such as this are expected.
The company claims that improved door sealing and high-quality acoustic glass will reduce cabin noise and vibration.
Hybrid and Electric Powertrains
The new Lexus ES is offered in global markets with both hybrid and fully electric powertrains.
Hybrid variants include:
. 2.0-liter petrol-hybrid – approximately 197 hp
. 2.5-liter petrol-hybrid – approximately 201 hp
. ES 350h – approximately 247 hp
All variants are equipped with an e-CVT gearbox, and front-wheel drive is available in some markets, along with all-wheel drive.
Electric versions include:
. ES 350e – approximately 224 hp and a range of up to 685 km (CLTC)
. ES 550e – approximately 343 hp and a range of approximately 610 km
. The dual-motor ES 550e can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.
However, the hybrid variant is more likely to be launched in India, as is the case with the current model.
Price and Launch
The current Lexus ES starts at around ₹62.65 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The new-generation model is expected to be priced slightly higher due to the increased features and updates.
The new ES could become a strong contender in the luxury sedan segment with its improved comfort, quiet cabin, and high-tech features.
