Delhi EV Subsidy April 2026: ₹24 Crore Release Announced by Transport Minister Pankaj Singh

Delhi Government to Release ₹24 Crore in Pending EV Subsidies in April — Over 22,000 Beneficiaries to Gain

Thousands of electric vehicle owners in Delhi are set to receive long-awaited financial relief. Transport Minister Pankaj Singh has announced that the Delhi government will soon release pending EV subsidies, with disbursements expected to begin as early as April.

How Much Will Be Released?

The government has prepared an initial subsidy release of approximately ₹24 crore. However, the minister noted that the total amount could rise to ₹100 crore, as verification of a significant number of additional cases is still ongoing.

Who Will Benefit?

Over 22,000 beneficiaries are expected to receive the pending subsidy under this scheme. So far, the government has verified the data of 12,877 beneficiaries who have linked their Aadhaar cards. Once verification of the remaining cases is complete, the total payout is expected to increase substantially.

Two-Wheeler Owners Stand to Gain the Most

Electric two-wheeler buyers are expected to be the biggest beneficiaries of this announcement, as they make up the largest share of EV owners in Delhi and account for the highest number of pending subsidy claims.

Broader Impact

The Delhi government believes that releasing the pending subsidies will restore public confidence in the EV scheme and encourage future electric vehicle purchases. This is expected to support the city’s broader goals of reducing pollution and accelerating the shift toward clean transportation.
