Both the Dzire and the Amaze are powered by 1.2-litre petrol engines, but there is a key difference in their engine design. The Dzire uses a three-cylinder engine, while the Amaze gets a four-cylinder unit. As a result, the Amaze produces slightly more power at 90 hp, compared to the Dzire’s 82 hp. However, the Dzire has a small advantage in torque, generating 113 Nm versus the Amaze’s 111 Nm.
How much mileage do both vehicles deliver?
In real-world conditions, the two cars show different mileage figures. The Honda Amaze returns about 9.94 km/l in the city, while the Maruti Dzire delivers around 11.61 km/l. On the highway, the Amaze offers 16.62 km/l, whereas the Dzire achieves 19.22 km/l.
Combining these numbers, the Amaze’s average mileage comes to roughly 13.28 km/l, while the Dzire delivers about 15.41 km/l.
The Amaze shows a claimed mileage difference of 6.18 km/l, while the Dzire’s gap is slightly higher at 10.3 km/l. Based on these figures, the Maruti Dzire AMT outperforms the Honda Amaze CVT in real-world fuel efficiency by around 2.13 km/l.
Maruti Suzuki has traditionally focused on mileage-oriented tuning, meaning the engine is optimized to extract more distance from less fuel. Honda’s tuning, in contrast, is slightly more performance-focused, delivering a smoother and more powerful driving experience, but with a minor impact on fuel economy.
