A remarkable example of grassroots innovation has emerged from Jharkhand, where a local mechanic has transformed a humble Maruti 800 into a Lamborghini-inspired showstopper. The unique project, completed at Tarzan Garage, is now going viral across social media platforms.
Passion Project Goes Viral
Mohammad Arif, a resident of Saraikela in Jharkhand, is grabbing headlines for creating what many are calling a “Desi Lamborghini.” Through sheer dedication and craftsmanship, Arif reshaped the iconic Maruti 800 to resemble an exotic Lamborghini supercar.
Videos of the modified car are rapidly gaining traction on Instagram and Facebook, with viewers praising the creativity and effort behind the build.
Inspired by a Bollywood Classic
Arif runs Tarzan Garage in Saraikela and drew inspiration from the Bollywood film Tarzan: The Wonder Car, starring Ajay Devgn. Naming his workshop after the movie, Arif gradually turned his passion for modification into a full-fledged project that has now captured national attention.

₹5 Lakh and Two Years of Hard Work
The transformation was no small task:
-
Total time: About 2 years
-
Total cost: Around ₹5 lakh
-
Team: 6 mechanics
Arif and his team handled everything in-house — from designing and welding body panels to assembling the interior, tuning the exhaust note, and adding custom features. The result is a head-turning machine that visually mimics a high-end supercar.
However, it’s important to note that this is purely a cosmetic and custom build. While it looks like a multi-crore Lamborghini, it does not match the original in performance or engineering.
Real Lamborghini Cars in India
For context, genuine Lamborghini models sold in India — such as the Lamborghini Urus, Lamborghini Revuelto, and Lamborghini Huracán EVO — come with ex-showroom prices starting around ₹4.18 crore and going up to ₹8.89 crore, depending on the model and configuration.
Mohammad Arif’s creation proves that passion and skill can produce extraordinary results even on a modest budget. While it may not be a real Lamborghini, the “Desi Lambo” has certainly succeeded in turning heads across the internet.
