Mahindra BE.07: Mahindra’s new electric SUV spotted testing, set to make waves in 2027!
Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to revolutionize the Indian EV market with its ‘Born Electric’ (BE) series. Amidst the buzz surrounding the XEV 9e and BE 6, the production-ready model of the Mahindra BE.07 has been spotted testing for the first time. Despite the heavy camouflage, the SUV’s appearance has created a stir in the automotive world.
Design and Spy Shots Revealed
This test car, recently spotted near Chennai, has revealed several key details about the BE.07’s design:
Glasshouse Design: The front and rear windscreens are heavily raked, giving it a sporty and aerodynamic look.
Changes: The original concept used cameras, but the production model features simple wing mirrors (ORVMs).
Key Features: It features flush door handles (which retract into the body), large aero-optimized alloy wheels, and side steps.
Lighting: The lighting elements on the front bumper have been simplified and made more practical than the concept model.
Interior: A Powerhouse of Technology
The BE.07 is expected to have a premium interior similar to Mahindra’s XEV 9e. It could feature a triple-screen layout (three screens spread across the dashboard) that will serve as infotainment, instrument cluster, and passenger display.
Power and Performance (INGLO Platform)
This SUV will be based on Mahindra’s state-of-the-art INGLO platform. Technical specifications could be as follows:
Battery Options: It is expected to be equipped with 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs.
Range: It can offer a range of 450km to 500km on a single full charge.
Size: It will measure approximately 4.6 meters in length, making it significantly larger and more spacious than the BE 6. It will be a pure 5-seater premium SUV.
Market Competition and Pricing
According to Mahindra Executive Director Rajesh Jejurikar, the BE.07 will prove to be a “major volume driver” for the company. It will compete directly with the following vehicles:

3 Hyundai Creta EV (Premium Variants)
Launch Timeline
Mahindra has confirmed that the production version of the BE.07 will be launched in 2027. However, given the pace of testing, the final model could be unveiled by the end of 2026.
