Next-Gen Chevrolet Camaro to Return in 2027 on Cadillac CT5 Platform

General Motors is preparing a new generation of the Chevrolet Camaro, which is expected to be based on the platform of the upcoming Cadillac CT5.

According to a supplier source cited by Automotive News, production of the revived Camaro and the next-generation CT5 sedan could begin in the fall of 2027, both built on a shared architecture.

Reports suggest that the new Camaro will utilize the same platform as the updated Cadillac CT5, which will also underpin a future sedan from Buick. This move indicates GM’s strategy to streamline production and reduce development costs by using a common vehicle architecture.

The Chevrolet Camaro was discontinued in 2023, marking the end of its sixth-generation run. The upcoming model is expected to return as the seventh generation of the iconic American muscle car, continuing its rivalry with the Ford Mustang.

The report also indicates that GM is targeting a combined production volume of approximately 60,000 to 70,000 units annually for the CT5 and Camaro models.
