A life-size model of Russia’s newest Tango aircraft was unveiled in St. Petersburg, drawing significant attention at the International Transport and Logistics Forum (ITLF) 2026. The newly introduced aircraft highlights Russia’s growing focus on domestic aviation technology and pilot training solutions.
The Tango is a four-seat, light-engine trainer aircraft developed by Spectra Aircraft, a subsidiary of S7 Group. Designed for both commercial aviation training and private pilot use, the aircraft is built using domestically produced composite materials, ensuring reduced dependency on foreign components.
In terms of performance, the Tango aircraft offers a maximum takeoff weight of approximately 1,150 kg and an operational range of up to 1,100 km. One of its key design features is its ability to maintain a low minimum speed of 65–80 km/h in takeoff configuration, which enhances safety and training efficiency for beginner pilots.
The aircraft, officially named Spectra PV-10 Tango, is expected to enter serial production by the end of 2026. Initially, the company plans to manufacture up to two aircraft per month, signaling a gradual but steady rollout strategy.
The model was showcased during the First International Transport and Logistics Forum, held in St. Petersburg from April 1 to April 3, 2026. The event serves as a platform for unveiling new транспорт and aviation innovations, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and global participants.
With its modern design, efficient performance, and focus on training capabilities, the Tango aircraft could play a key role in strengthening Russia’s pilot training ecosystem in the coming years.
