India’s leading automobile manufacturer, Tata Motors, has strengthened its presence in the electric commercial vehicle segment with the launch of the Tata Intra EV. This new electric pickup joins the company’s EV lineup after the Ace EV 1000 and Ace Pro EV. It comes with several advanced features designed for commercial use. Let’s take a detailed look.
Payload Capacity
The Tata Intra EV is built to carry heavy loads with ease. It offers a spacious cargo area with a body length of 10 feet 2 inches, making it ideal for applications such as LPG cylinder transport, dairy, e-commerce, and cold chain logistics. The pickup has a payload capacity of up to 1,750 kg.
Power and Performance
This electric pickup is powered by a motor that produces 97 hp and 230 Nm of torque. It can handle steep inclines of up to 23%, making it suitable for varied road conditions. It is equipped with a 28.2 kWh battery pack with an IP67 rating, ensuring durability and water resistance.
Range and Charging
The Tata Intra EV offers a driving range of up to 211 km on a single full charge. It supports fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 55 minutes.
Modern Features
- Smart Cabin: The pickup features a walk-through cabin with ample space and car-like comfort, along with electric power steering.
- Smart Management: It comes with Tata Motors’ Fleet Edge system, enabling owners to track vehicle location, performance, and service updates via mobile.
- Regenerative Braking: The vehicle offers three levels of regenerative braking, improving energy efficiency. It also features an Electronic Braking System (EBS) for enhanced safety.
Warranty and Service
Tata Motors provides a 6-year or 2,00,000 km warranty on the battery pack. Additionally, the company supports customers with a wide network of over 25,000 charging points and more than 200 dedicated EV service centers across India.
