Tesla says its Optimus robot can handle office tasks while you relax, Elon Musk revealed new details about the “digital Optimus.” The system runs on an inexpensive $650 AI4 chip.
Tesla plans to deploy millions of these “digital Optimus” battery units at Supercharger stations, which have up to 7 GW of available capacity.
As of March 2026, Tesla’s Optimus humanoid project has entered pre-production for the third-generation (Gen 3) model. Elon Musk says Optimus Gen 3 will be the world’s most advanced robot, with mass production slated to begin in summer 2026.
