The Toyota Innova Hycross has surpassed 200,000 cumulative sales in India, reinforcing its position as one of the country’s most successful premium hybrid MPVs.

Toyota launched the Innova Hycross in November 2022, and it has since gained strong traction among Indian buyers. The growing demand for hybrid mobility solutions has played a key role in its success. Known for its powerful 4-cylinder engine, premium comfort, and advanced features, the Hycross has become a top choice for both families and chauffeur-driven customers.

Powerful Engine, Advanced Features, and Safety

Built on Toyota’s TNGA platform, the Innova Hycross combines MPV practicality with SUV-inspired styling and modern technology. Its popularity is largely driven by the 5th-generation self-charging strong hybrid system paired with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, delivering a combined output of 186 PS.

The hybrid system can run in EV mode for significant distances in city driving, improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. Additionally, the MPV is available with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 174 PS, offering buyers multiple options based on their needs and budget.

The Hycross stands out with premium comfort features such as powered ottoman seats in the second row, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and connected car technology. It also comes equipped with ADAS-based Toyota Safety Sense, enhancing safety and driving convenience.

Notably, the MPV has achieved a 5-star BNCAP safety rating, further strengthening its appeal in the premium segment.

Affordable Variant Expected Next Year

With a starting price of ₹19.53 lakh (ex-showroom), the Innova Hycross has seen increasing demand, especially due to the shift toward petrol-hybrid technology in India. Its share in the Innova lineup has steadily grown over the past year.

Toyota is expected to discontinue the Toyota Innova Crysta next year. To address the gap, the company may introduce a more affordable hybrid version of the Hycross, aimed primarily at fleet operators who currently prefer the Crysta. This budget-friendly variant is likely to come with fewer luxury features to keep costs competitive.
