Volkswagen and Xpeng Unveil High-Tech Electric SUV
Volkswagen has partnered with Xpeng to unveil their first jointly developed electric SUV — the Volkswagen ID. Unix 08.
Pre-orders for the model have already begun in China, with prices ranging from 239,900 to 299,900 yuan (approx. ₹28–35 lakh).
Built on Advanced 800V Platform
The ID. Unix 08 is based on a cutting-edge 800-volt architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging and high efficiency.
- Supports fast charging up to 315 kW
- Gains ~150 km range in just 5 minutes
- Charges from 10% to 80% in around 20 minutes
This makes it one of the fastest-charging electric SUVs in its segment.
Powerful Performance: Up to 503 HP
The electric SUV is offered in two powertrain options:
- RWD Version:

- AWD Dual-Motor Version:
- 503 hp
- 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds
- Top speed: 200 km/h
This performance puts it among the most powerful electric SUVs in its class.
Long Range with CATL Batteries
The ID. Unix 08 is equipped with batteries from CATL:
- Battery capacity: 82 kWh / 95 kWh
- Type: Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP)
- Maximum range: Up to 730 km (CLTC cycle)
This ensures strong real-world usability and long-distance capability.

The SUV comes loaded with advanced technology:

- Additional AI computing unit with up to 1500 TOPS
