The company has officially released a teaser of the updated Volkswagen Taigun, where the silhouette of the SUV can be clearly seen. While the overall body design appears similar, several feature upgrades and mechanical changes are expected to make it significantly different from the current model.
Volkswagen has confirmed that the new Taigun will be fully unveiled on April 9, 2026.

These changes are expected to give the SUV a more bold and modern appearance.

Interior and Feature Updates
Inside the cabin, the layout is likely to remain familiar, but with subtle enhancements:

Major Powertrain Changes
The biggest update is expected in the engine and gearbox combination.
The SUV will continue with its existing engines:

However, gearbox options are likely to change:
- The 1.0L engine may get a new 8-speed automatic transmission (AT) instead of the current 6-speed unit
- The 1.5L engine is expected to continue with a 7-speed DSG (DCT) gearbox
These changes could improve driving smoothness and overall performance.
Note: The upcoming Volkswagen Taigun facelift is expected to bring subtle design tweaks, improved features, and important mechanical upgrades. With its official debut set for April 9, 2026, the updated SUV could become an even stronger contender in the mid-size SUV segment.
