Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Unveiled: Volkswagen has revealed the updated Volkswagen Taigun for the Indian market. While the official price is yet to be announced, bookings have already begun, with customers able to reserve the SUV by paying between ₹11,000 and ₹50,000.

The new Taigun facelift will compete with popular models like Hyundai CretaKia SeltosSkoda KushaqMaruti Grand VitaraToyota Urban Cruiser HyryderRenault Duster, and the upcoming Tata Sierra. Mileage is expected to be a key factor influencing its sales.

Engine Options and Performance

The Volkswagen Taigun facelift is offered with two turbo-petrol engine options:

  • 1.0-litre TSI engine

    • Power: 114 hp

    • Torque: 178 Nm

    • Transmission: 6-speed manual / 8-speed automatic

  • 1.5-litre TSI engine

    • Power: 147 hp

    • Torque: 250 Nm

Mileage Details

Mileage remains one of the strong points of the Taigun:

  • 1.0L AT: 19.54 kmpl

  • 1.5L DSG: 18.85 kmpl

For comparison, the Skoda Kushaq offers:

  • 19.66 kmpl (1.0L MT)

The slightly lower mileage of the Taigun could be due to its marginally higher weight.

The Volkswagen Taigun facelift has received a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP, ensuring high protection for both adult and child occupants.

Built on the MQB-A0-IN platform (shared with the Skoda Kushaq), the SUV features a strong body structure that contributes significantly to its safety performance.
