Xiaomi Introduces Humanoid Robots to Its Electric Car Factory
Xiaomi is bringing humanoid robots from the prototype stage into real-world manufacturing. The company has deployed a humanoid robot on its electric vehicle assembly line, where it installs self-tapping nuts during the production process.
During more than three hours of continuous operation, the system demonstrated 90.2% accuracy, with a cycle time of 76 seconds, which is close to human working speed.
The robot’s training is based on a Vision-Language-Action model with 4.7 billion parameters, enabling it to understand instructions, analyze visual input, and perform precise physical tasks.
The robot’s controller updates in less than one millisecond, while its fault tolerance has been tested in hundreds of millions of simulated scenarios. As a result, the system functions not just as a robotic manipulator but as an adaptive platform capable of responding to changing environments.
Xiaomi plans to scale the technology over the next five years and may eventually introduce humanoid robots to the consumer market.
