This Electric Bike Balances Itself: OMO-X Goes on Sale Soon

The OMO-X Self-Balancing Electric Motorcycle Goes on Sale

Announced last year, the OMO-X electric motorcycle, capable of maintaining balance without the rider’s assistance, is no longer just a concept or demonstration prototype. Its developers claim that this technology has reached the mass production stage for the first time.

The unusual vehicle is based on the OMO-ROBOT architecture—a system of sensors and computing modules that transforms the bike into a kind of two-wheeled robot.

A Control Moment Gyroscope serves as the main stabilization element. Such components are commonly used in space technology, such as on satellites. By rapidly changing angular momentum, the gyroscope helps keep the motorcycle upright even at very low speeds or when stopped.

The safety system also includes wet skid control, cornering assist and automatic obstacle avoidance.

Pre-orders will open in Indonesia in April 2026, with the official launch in Jakarta scheduled for May. Pricing has not yet been disclosed.
