Yamaha has unveiled a unique three-wheeled scooter equipped with an airbag, marking a major step forward in two-wheeler safety. As motorcycle manufacturers increasingly focus on rider protection, such advanced technologies are now making their way into scooters as well.
The newly introduced Yamaha Tricity 300 aims to reduce the risk of injuries during accidents while also boosting rider confidence. Its standout feature is the integrated airbag system, developed in collaboration with Autoliv. The system uses dual sensors to detect sudden braking or impact and automatically deploys the airbag in the event of a collision.
Powering the scooter is a 292cc single-cylinder Blue Core engine, designed to deliver a balance of performance and efficiency. The Tricity 300 also features Yamaha’s Leaning Multi-Wheel (LMW) system, which enhances stability by allowing the two front wheels to lean smoothly while cornering.

Additionally, the scooter comes equipped with Standing Assist, a feature that helps keep the vehicle upright when stationary. For safety and comfort, it includes ABS, advanced suspension, and a modern instrument cluster that combines a 2.8-inch LCD screen with a 4.2-inch TFT display.
The Tricity 300 also gets full LED lighting, further enhancing visibility and design appeal. In the UK market, the scooter is expected to be priced at around $11,900.
