Royal Enfield has achieved a historic milestone in the Indian motorcycle market by crossing the 1 million (10 lakh) domestic sales mark for the first time in a single financial year. This achievement highlights the brand’s strong dominance and growing demand in India’s mid-size motorcycle segment.
1.007 Million Units Sold in 11 Months
Between April 2025 and February 2026, covering the first 11 months of FY26, Royal Enfield recorded total domestic wholesale sales of 1,006,937 units. This marks an impressive 24% year-on-year growth compared to the same period last year.
For comparison, in FY25, the company reported total global sales of 1.01 million units, including 903,000 domestic sales and 107,000 exports. However, in FY26, Royal Enfield has already surpassed the 1 million mark in the domestic market alone.
With March 2026 sales yet to be added, total domestic sales are expected to reach around 1.1 million units by the end of FY26. Exports are also projected to grow to approximately 125,000 units.
350cc Bikes Drive Maximum Growth
The biggest contribution to Royal Enfield’s success comes from its 350cc motorcycle lineup. Out of the total 1.007 million units sold, around 931,000 units (92%) were from four key models:
- Classic 350
- Bullet 350
- Hunter 350
- Meteor 350
In the 250cc–350cc segment, which recorded total sales of 991,000 units, Royal Enfield dominated with a massive 94% market share, reflecting a strong 27% year-on-year growth.
Market Share Breakdown (350cc Segment):
- Classic 350 — 40%
- Bullet 350 — 25%
- Hunter 350 + Meteor 350 — 35%
The Classic 350 remains the top-selling model, contributing nearly 4 out of every 10 bikes sold in this segment.
Performance in Other Segments
350cc–500cc Segment:
Royal Enfield’s Guerrilla 450 and Himalayan recorded combined sales of 32,994 units, marking a 7% decline year-on-year. In this segment, Bajaj Auto leads with a 60% market share, while Royal Enfield holds around 27%.
500cc–800cc Segment:
Royal Enfield continues to dominate this premium category. With 42,640 units sold from its 650cc lineup, the company secured an overwhelming 97% market share out of a total 44,156 units.
Strong Monthly Sales Momentum
Sales data for FY26 shows consistent strong performance, with monthly dispatches exceeding 100,000 units for three consecutive months between August and October 2025.
October 2025 was the best-performing month, with a record 117,000 units sold in a single month.
Note: Royal Enfield’s record-breaking domestic sales in FY26 clearly indicate the rapid growth of India’s mid-size motorcycle market. With near-monopoly dominance in the 350cc segment and a strong hold in the 650cc category, the brand is strengthening its position as a leader in India’s premium two-wheeler space.
This milestone not only reflects strong consumer trust but also signals continued growth potential for Royal Enfield in both domestic and global markets.
