Kia Sorento Hybrid Spotted Testing in India Again
The Kia Sorento has been spotted testing in India once again, just days after Kia confirmed that the three-row SUV will be launched in the country. This marks the second time the model has been seen on Indian roads since its first sighting in November 2025.
Unlike the previously heavily camouflaged test mule, the latest spy images reveal more details of the SUV’s exterior. Some body panels are now visible, including a dark red-maroon paint finish. The overall styling appears largely similar to the international version.
At the front, the Sorento features a wider and more squared-off grille, flanked by vertically positioned LED headlights. The side profile showcases a long roofline and a large glass area, while the rear gets vertically stacked taillights and a clean, straight tailgate design. The test model is also seen with 19-inch alloy wheels, similar to the global variant.

Globally, the Sorento HEV is already on sale. It is powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 224 bhp. This setup is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, and all-wheel drive is available in select international markets.
While the cabin details of the India-spec model are not clearly visible yet, higher variants in global markets offer a dual-screen setup, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
The Sorento is also part of Kia’s broader strategy for India. At its 2026 CEO Investor Day, the company announced plans to introduce 10 models in India by 2030, eight of which will feature electrified powertrains. This includes hybrid versions of both the Sorento and the Carnival, with the latter currently available in India with a diesel engine.
In India, the Sorento will be positioned above the Seltos in Kia’s lineup and is expected to rival models such as the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari.
