Hyundai Ioniq 3 Unveiled at Milan Design Week 2026
Hyundai has unveiled its new electric car, the Hyundai Ioniq 3, at the Milan Design Week 2026. The Ioniq 3 is positioned between the Hyundai Instar EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric in the company’s lineup.
Designed as a budget-friendly yet feature-rich EV, the Ioniq 3 is set to become the smallest and most affordable model in Hyundai’s Ioniq range. For now, it has been introduced with a focus on the European market.
Futuristic “Aero Hatch” Design
The Hyundai Ioniq 3 is based on Hyundai’s new “Art of Steel” design language. It combines simplicity with futuristic styling.
The front features sleek lighting elements with pixel-inspired detailing. Hyundai calls it an “Aero Hatch,” designed to reduce air resistance. Despite its compact size, the tall roofline and flat floor ensure a spacious cabin for passengers.
Up to 496 km Range
Built on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, the Ioniq 3 will be offered with two battery options:
- 42.2 kWh battery – Range of around 344 km
- 61 kWh battery – Range of up to 496 km
The EV has a top speed of 170 km/h and supports fast charging, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes.
Interior Designed as a ‘Furnished Space’
Hyundai has designed the cabin around a “Furnished Space” concept, offering a more comfortable and home-like experience.
The car provides:
- 441 litres of boot space
- Additional “Megabox” storage
- New ‘Pleos Connect’ infotainment system (first in Europe)
- 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch touchscreen (variant-dependent)
Other highlights include a Bose premium sound system, ambient lighting, and a digital key for added convenience.
Advanced Safety and Smart Features
The Hyundai Ioniq 3 comes equipped with Hyundai SmartSense ADAS features, including:
- Highway Driving Assist
- Blind-Spot View Monitor
- Remote Smart Parking Assist
It also includes multiple airbags and advanced lighting systems to enhance safety and visibility during night driving.
India Launch Status
As of now, Hyundai has not officially announced plans to launch the Ioniq 3 in India.
